What We Collect
Information you give us
If you contact us via our contact form or email, we collect your name and email address. We use these only to reply. We don't add you to marketing lists without your consent.
Calculator inputs
When you use our water calculator or other tools, the inputs you enter (group size, activity, days, etc.) are processed locally in your browser. We collect anonymized aggregate data for example, 'someone ran a 3-adult, 4-day backpacking calculation' but nothing connected to your identity.
Automatic collection
We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used which pages are visited, how long people stay, and where they come from. This data is aggregated and anonymous. We don't use it to identify individuals.
Cookies
We use essential cookies (required for the site to function) and analytics cookies (Google Analytics). You can decline analytics cookies using the banner when you first visit. This doesn't affect any site functionality.
Advertising
CampingHour displays some third-party advertising. Advertisers may serve interest-based ads using their own cookies. You can opt out of interest-based advertising through the Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada at youradchoices.ca.
